The golf day was a huge success for so many reasons. The format of the day was a Texas Scramble where 22 teams of 4 participated. The main trophy was won by Paul Ockrim’s team with a fantastic low score of 57.
The weather held up nicely for us and the day was enhanced by the fun challenge of beat the Pro on the 6th hold on the King Robert the Bruce course where European Tour legend Alistair Forsyth was on hand to test your skills to beat him to ‘closest to the hole’. After the golf and the presentation of all the prizes, we enjoyed some great food. Alison and I discussed with everyone what the Doing It For Daniel charity was planning next.
The auction was a great success and was followed by a fun Q&A with Chick Young and Alan McInally. The event raised £53,000 which is incredibly important funds for the charity.
We would like to thank the amazing Turnberry employees especially Ricky and Ralph for their time given to help organise the event and also for their kindness & generosity. Also a huge thanks to Carmichael Homes who sponsored the event as well as a big thank you to all the participants on the day for giving up their time to help the charity achieve its goals.
We will keep you posted on when the next golf event is scheduled so we can endeavour to make the event another success.
